Home Window Security
Home Window Security Should Never Be
Overlooked
Home security is important to everyone, however an
often overlooked on not long thought about area that needs protection are your windows. Many people believe that if
they have latched their windows then they are doing all they need to in order to have the best Home Window
Security. However, that could not be further from the truth. While latching your window might give a would be thief
pause, if they are desperate enough or if they feel like they can break your window without drawing a lot of
attention, then they will go ahead and try. Protecting you windows and having a good Home Window Security system is
actually quite simple. There are many methods you can use to protect your windows.
One of the most direct ways is if you already have a
security system in your home you should have the windows wired for protection as well. If someone breaks your glass
or tries to open the window then the alarm will sound and your security company will be informed (and usually the
burglar will run off as well).
Another way to protect your windows is through breaking
glass detectors. These detectors react to the noise of breaking glass and to the vibrations of the glass breaking,
sounding an alarm that you will hear (if you are home) or the neighbors will hear if you are not home. Again, if
you have a home alarm system, you can have this alarm attached to your system so that the police are informed if
this alarm should sound.
Other methods of Home Window Security are even more
simple. You can purchase window film for your window. What this does is make your glass much harder to break than
standard glass. While no alarm will sound if a burglar tries to break in this way, often a burglar will be deterred
if they find that their easy way in isn't so easy after all. Some other benefits to window film is that it is great
in rough weather, can protect against flying debris and if it does break there will be no glass shards flying
everywhere, as the film acts like safety glass does. Also, window film can be added as a do it yourself project.
Another hard to break glass is laminated glass. This is a process in which several panes of glass are bonded
together providing you with a super strong window for your home. To give you an idea of what it offers as Home
Window Security, laminated glass is what is used for bullet proof glass and, depending on the thickness, can resist
bullets and high winds and bad weather as well.
